At Franci, we source our pure baby alpaca scarves from our sourcing partner in Peru. Working for them are a number of artisans who are predominantly mothers from the Andean communities. They work from the safety of their own homes whilst still being able to supervise and care for their children
Each alpaca scarf is woven from the very first shear, the softest and most delicate fibres from the alpaca native to the highlands of Peru. This first shear is known as baby alpaca. All our alpaca scarves are Peru Fair-Trade Certified. Our partner ensures close supervision of Fair Trade statements; close relationship with artisans, suppliers and providers thereby maintaining harmonic alliances.
Our artisans are skilful with their hands in knitting and weaving. They attend workshops to continuously improve their knowledge and expertise and receive assistance from our partner for the acquisition of their own hand looms. They set their own pay and hours in line with Peruvian Government guidelines.
Their love for the craft is spun into the pure baby alpaca yarn and then beautifully woven to create an alpaca scarf that is pure style, pure elegance and as individual as YOU.
